Who We Are

Andrew Hart, LCSW

Andrew Hart, LCSW

“I truly believe that play can heal trauma symptoms. I want to provide a treatment here that is original and that our kiddos won’t receive anywhere else in order to connect with each client individually and help them remember the care they received while being a part of The Genesis Project.”

Andrew Hart works extensively with our residents to practice newly created therapy ideas, help build confidence and self-worth and teach boys to process anger in fun and effective ways. Andrew creates safety plans based around each child’s sensory needs, centering treatment around play therapy techniques. (link to Programs and Services page).

Andrew received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. He received his Masters of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, with a clinical track. Andrew currently holds a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) credential and is currently under supervision to obtain his Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) credential.

Andrew provides individual therapy for all clients, family therapy, transition planning and aftercare for boys who are discharged from Genesis. He is passionate about training staff to increase knowledge of trauma-informed care.

He is an expert in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and has been a practitioner in TBRI since September of 2019. In July of 2020, Andrew will also be trained in a new program and treatment modality called “Make Sense of Your Self Worth” (MSOYW).
